"I am moved as much by the great..."
(nearly Thanksgiving day) Dear one, I am moved as much by the great outpouring of love as by the miracle
of being alive. This Thanksgiving is special for me of course, but again it is
a very emotional feeling to find that other people are mentioning it
prominently in their list of things to be thankful for, was God's sparing me.
A church in its Sunday Thanksgiving service mentioned their Thanks to God for
sparing Brother Orland for us, both for our church and for Guatemala. Letters are pouring in from you in the U.S. as well as people coming by to
visit. There has been an almost continual time of prayer here, since most
folks want prayer before they go, and no more are they gone than more come. What is also deeply touching is these folks asking about the medical bills
and leaving an offering. Ordinarily an American who goes around to churches to
preach receives no offering. It is just understood that Americans are "rich",
and we put offerings in their plates, not expecting the same love offerings
that they might offer their native visitor preachers. So that fir these poor
folks to want to help is with their widow's mite if still another element heart
touching. Amounts have come from some of you folks already which I am sure
could have been done only with sacrifice. May the Lord repay you manifold, for
it looks like enough extra in coming in to take care of the medical ills and
still keep the work of the mission going at full steam, printing tracts,
helping preachers and taking care of the increasing work among the poor
children. May the Lord repay you and answer all your prayers. I feel quite well. Stronger almost daily. The bad arm keeps bothering but
as I work at it, hurting or not, it is responding. It looks like the Lord has
given us half a victory. The eyesight is still the main problem. Please keep
praying for another, or a completion of the miracle. The Lord that gave sight
to one born blind in olden times, still lives and has the same power as ever.
May we all pray first to have spiritual insights as to His will and then the
physical will be added. I'll be going to see more about an eye operation here in about two weeks.
I am glad I can still be busy and useful. [Different ones of you have asked]
me to come to your home for rest and recuperation. Deep thanks, but I am more
bothered about being idle with limited sight than with long rest. We'll hold
to the promise of God that He works all together for good as we love Him. BLESSED THANKSGIVING Brother Orland Orland Wolfram |
