His wife, Diane, writes:
Our dear friends,

Bob went to be with Jesus last evening (October 31) at 7:22 P.M.  We were singing around his bed as he was ushered into the Kingdom of Heaven.  He suffered much the last couple weeks, but today he is singing around the throne.  A week ago, Bob told me to tell everyone that "JESUS NEVER FAILS."

During the 2 1/2 weeks he was in the hospital, he kept giving of himself to his children and grandchildren, instructing them to live for God and meet him in heaven.  He begged them to do that, to love one another, and to take care of me.  He was so loved.

His Memorial service was on Thursday, November 4, at 10:00 A.M.  at Denver First Church of the Nazarene.

I covet your prayers for me and our children.  God blessed me and gave me a wonderful husband and best friend for 41 years.  Heaven has become very real to me in the last few days as I have sat by his bed and read to him from Revelation.

Thank you again for all the love you have showered upon us in the last few months.
Love,

Diane and family

Dear Friends:

Mrs. Bertha Hollander White went to be with the Lord at 7:00 AM, Tuesday, August 24, 2004. She had been living at Elms Haven Care Center. The last few weeks there was an evident decline in her physical condition. About a week ago it became apparent that she had kidney failure and was failing rapidly. She died peacefully and is now in the presence of her Lord whom she loved and lived for so faithfully

A funeral service was held at the Belleview College Chapel on August 28th,  Rev. Phillip J. Wolfram officiating, with the internment at the Pillar of Fire Cemetery on the Campus of Belleview Schools.

Rev. White was born December 11, 1905 and died on Rev. Ray B. White’s Birthday. She has been a wonderful witness and blessing to many who have had the privilege to know her. At the nursing home she was loved and appreciated very much by those who came to know her. Pauline, her step-daughter and sister in Christ, spent many delightful hours together sharing many things of the Lord which she deeply appreciated and understood. They loved to play the piano together and sing. On August 15th, about nine days ago, I sang “I Asked The Lord” accompanied by Pauline on the piano. Bertha new the melody and sang it. This was our last time of music together. She was becoming weak in body, but the song had meaning for her. Here are the words:

“I asked the Lord to comfort me when things weren’t going my way.
He said to me, ‘I will comfort you,
And lift your cares away’.
I asked the Lord to walk with me,
When darkness was all that I knew,
He said to me, ‘Never be afraid, for I will see you through’.
I didn’t ask for riches,
He gave me wealth untold---
The moon, the stars, the sun, the sky,
And gave me eyes to behold.
I thank the Lord for everything,
And I count my blessings each day,
He came to me when I needed Him’
I only had to pray,
And He’ll come to you if you ask Him to,
He’s only a pray’r away.”

The Lord has come to Mrs. White and taken her to be with Him forever.

Cordially in Christ,

Robert B. Dallenbach, Pastor

Promoted to Glory: Lester Knight, longtime faithful Pillar of Fire worker, left this life on Tuesday, July 22. He was 86 and had been in failing health at Elm's Haven Care Center for some time.  Interment was at Belleview Cemetery.

Dr. John Howard Reed underwent surgery on Thursday, May 26, for a spot of melanoma on his neck. He is recovering at home. Your prayers are appreciated.

Rev. Elsworth N. Bradford was honored on April 19 for his 65 years in ministry. A service of celebration was held in the College Chapel during which many tributes were given and Brother Bradford gave an account of some of his experiences. Judee Dickinson unveiled an elegant portrait. Many friends and family members were on hand, including all four of his children and several grandchildren. A delicious buffet lunch followed in the college dining room.

On May 13th, a number of the Wolframs ate together at a restaurant and Neta noticed that Dad was somewhat jaundiced. A day or two later, he left for a trip to our church and school in Los Angeles. On his return Monday, he was much more jaundiced. Neta was very concerned and requested that he not even delay by half a day a visit to the doctor. Tuesday morning he went in. The doctor suspected hepatitis and took blood. Wednesday--yesterday-- evening Dad was scheduled to give the commencement address in the college commencement, but as he was preparing to leave for that, the doctor called and asked him to come right to the hospital. Since then he has had an endoscopy, ultrasound, and CAT scan.
The results are grim. Three of his adult children were there when the doctor came in to discuss the results. The probability is near 100% that Dad has a cancerous tumor of the pancreas which has infiltrated the lymph nodes and the inferior vena cava of the heart. The prognosis of this condition, absent a miracle of the Lord, is grave.
Dr. Wolfram is not feeling ill at this time. He is home from the hospital and has resumed his normal round of duties.
Dr. Wolfram is very close to the Lord and is ready for Heaven if the Lord calls him home. But for his five children and their spouses, his fourteen grandchildren, and the legions of others who love and rely on him, it is very hard to contemplate saying goodbye. Your prayers are greatly appreciated.

Dear Church Family,
It has been a whole season since I wrote to you to update you on our church. The summer has been very dry and warm. Rules have been enforced as to irrigation of the lawns around the church, leaving it looking a little dry. I’m sure all of you have had the same problems at your homes. We need to pray for rain - a steady supply for a while.
Congratulation to Dr. and Mrs. Reed on their fortieth wedding anniversary! Those of you who attended the reception following church on August 25th know we had a wonderful time of fellowship and sharing.
Last Spring I had written about raising money for a new keyboard and a set of drums. The Lord has supplied both. Another new thing in our services is the use of Power Point. This is the use of a computer program that in combination with a video projector can project words and pictures on a screen that can be read out in the audience where you sit. We have been using it for the song service and also for some of the sermons since July.
Our Saturday night Christian movies are the third Saturday of every month in the lower fellowship hall. This month’s movie is "The Climb" Saturday, September 21, at 6 p.m.
A reminder to those of you interested in studying the Bible, Belleview College is starting the last week of September. Classes include: Introduction to the Bible; Church History; Life and Letters of St. Paul; The Epistles of James, Peter, John, and Jude; Christianity and the Arts ( a study of Christian themes in literature): Introductory Psychology: Beginning Greek; and intermediate Hebrew. Some classes are during the day and some are in the evening. Check out our website at AlmaTemple.org. Or call Suzanne Wolfram at 303-428-1955.
A special Remembrance Service was held on Wednesday, September 11, at 7 p.m. at Belleview College Chapel, remembering those who gave their lives on September 11th of last year. It was a time of prayer and memorial. We had good attendance.
The Centennial Philharmonic Orchestra has its first concert Friday, October 4th, at 7:30 p.m. in the Alma Temple auditorium.  Tickets are: Adults, $12.00; 15 and under $6.00; students and groups of ten or more $8.00; A season pass is $50.00.
Our own Dr. Dallenbach is going to Russia September the 12th till the 21st. We all need to pray for his safety, but most of all for the important reason he is going. He will be lecturing at the Bible Seminary and sharing the gospel. Let’s pray that as the Lord has opened these doors, much will be accomplished and many will be blessed with the joy of the Lord!
As a last reminder, time changes the end of October 26th. We will be going back to winter time and will lose an hour. It makes for an interesting Sunday when folks forget!
The Lord Bless you and keep you: The Lord make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you; The Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace. (Amen)--Numbers 6:24-26
                                                                        Sincerely,
                                                                        (Rev.) Neta Wolfram

Dear Church Family,
Many things have been going on these last two months.  One of the high points was the Sunday we had Allen Huth from the Gideons to come and speak and tell us how the Lord is using His Word throughout the world to win souls to Christ.  An offering was collected from the congregation that attended and a radio listener of $1,079.09 to buy Bibles to be distributed by the Gideons here and abroad.
Since winter weather is still here for the next two months, continue to listen to KPOF for information regarding services if we get a bad ice storm or a lot of snow.
A Bible Study and prayer time during the week is under consideration for the people who live downtown near Alma Temple.  If you are interested in being a part of this, please write the times that would be best for you on paper and give it to Mrs. Konkel in Sunday School.
Friday, March 8th, is a concert by the Centennial Philharmonic Orchestra at Alma Temple.  It will solo Yumi Hwang on the violin. The special pieces are Beethoven -Fidelio Overture, Beethoven-Symphony No.4, and the Beethoven- Violin Concerto. Admission is ten dollars at the door.
Saturday, March 16th, is the next movie night here at Alma Temple at 6:00 p.m. in the downstairs Fellowship Hall.  The title of the movie is The Dinosaur Project.  All are welcome and the movie is free.  Bring your family and friends.
Sunday, March 31st, is Easter Sunday.  The Lord’s Supper will be offered following the morning sermon.  All are welcome. Attend with your hearts prepared.
Sunday, March 31st, in the evening at 6:00 p.m. in the downstairs Fellowship Hall, a wonderful  video presentation will be made that is suited to the Easter season. Come and bring your friends for this special time of fellowship.
No fooling, but on Sunday April 2nd, we change to Daylight Saving Time.  Remember to spring your watch and clocks forward one hour.
Friday, April 12th, will be another concert by the Centennial Philharmonic Orchestra at Alma Temple.  The soloist will be Barbara Thiem on the cello. The selections are: Dubussy-Afternoon of a Faun, Schumann-Cello Concerto, and Hanson-Symphony No.2. Admission is ten dollars at the door.
The keyboard fund is now up to $2,556.57.   Some have asked to have clarification on why we need a keyboard.  A keyboard will make available thousands of sounds that we currently can not produce on the organ or piano, such as orchestra, strings, percussion, brass, and woodwind.  It also has the ability to sound as a piano and will be able to transpose keys instantly.  It can also record and play back, which would be a big help in solos and special music allowing for prerecorded accompaniments.  It has functions that can make it sound like both a piano and organ are being played simultaneously, so that if a musician is sick, another piano player can cover for the organ.  It will plug in to the speaker system and will have a more balanced sound over the radio. These are just a few of the advantages of a keyboard.
May God bless each of you at this Easter season.  He Is Risen!

Dear Church Family,
Happy New Year!  I trust you had a wonderful Christmas celebrating  Christ’s birth.
We have a thank you note from the Elms Haven Care Center thanking all the carolers.  It reads: “Thank you for another wonderful caroling group.  You folks always make our event even more special.  We really enjoyed the music as well this year.  We are so Blessed to have you folks as our friends.  May God Bless each of you and a very happy New Year to all.  Thank you from your Friends at Elms Haven”.  We traveled the halls and sang Christmas carols for about one and a half hours.   Ann Nurge  played the violin and that really kept us together and on pitch. Then we traveled to Arlene Konkel’s house for refreshments.  We had a wonderful time.
The ‘help yourself box’ is still active downstairs by the junior church room.  Due to space, clothing that has been there for two weeks or more is gathered and sent on to other charities.  If you have items to give, leave them on the long table.  Take what you would like to have.
Continue to listen to KPOF (AM 910 in Denver) for information regarding services if we get a bad ice storm or a lot of snow.  Winter weather is upon us.
Thursday, January 17th,  Senator Bruce Carnes will speak on a School Choice Bill at 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. here at Alma Temple. All are invited who are interested.

Spring Semester at Belleview Christian College begins the week of January 28th.  Classes being offered include: Church History;  Ancient History;  the Psalms;  and the Life and Letters of St. Paul.  Brochures are on the literature table at the back of Alma Temple.  Call Suzanne Wolfram at 303-428-1955 for further information
Friday,  February 1st, is a concert by the Centennial Philharmonic Orchestra at Alma Temple.  It will include Lutoslawski’s Mala Suite, Mozart’s Concerto in D, and Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No.5.  Cheryl Golden will solo on the flute.
Sunday, February 3rd, is Gideon Sunday; Allen Huth will bring the message in the morning service at 11:00 a.m.  He has traveled extensively in oriental countries.  Please bring a special offering to help buy Bibles.  The Gideons are lay business men who distribute Bibles world wide.
February 4th thru 8th the Christian Home Educators will be using Alma Temple as a base for CHEC which includes activities for about fifty teenagers. [Teen Pact at the Denver Capitol, Leadership Training, www.teenpact.com, 1-888-343-1776]
